How social feeds work
Four real platforms, three more deliberately not (yet)
Cordavix watches YouTube channels, Twitch channels, any RSS/Atom feed and GitHub repositories automatically - TikTok, Instagram and X aren't supported at the moment, since there's no open interface for them.
Checked every 5 minutes, never old posts
The worker checks every configured feed every 5 minutes. When a feed is set up it only remembers the current state - notifications start with the next new post, never retroactively.
Twitch gets a living embed instead of a line
The moment a Twitch channel goes live, the bot posts an embed. If the title, game or viewer count changes, that same embed is edited in place instead of posted again - and it disappears automatically once the channel goes offline.
The mention role only pings on the first post
An optional mention role is prepended to every new announcement. When the Twitch embed is later edited it stays silent, since Discord doesn't trigger a new notification for message edits anyway.
Twitch needs its own API credentials on the server
Without stored Twitch credentials (client ID and secret) the feed is simply skipped when checked. You can still set it up ahead of time - it starts firing once the connection is in place.
