Connecting your Discord account

Even if you originally registered with an email address and password, it is worth linking your Discord account to your Cordavix account – it is a prerequisite for managing servers, taking part in some giveaways, or making full use of Discord-specific features in the dashboard.

Linking

In the dashboard, open the "Account → Connections" area and click "Link Discord". You will be redirected to Discord, where you confirm access. Discord then automatically takes you back to the dashboard, and from that point on your account shows your Discord name and avatar.

The process uses OAuth2 with a single-use, time-limited security token, so that the link cannot be misused by third parties. In doing so, we receive only the information that Discord releases as part of the requested permissions – never your Discord password.

Why link?

Only with a linked Discord account can you:

  • see and manage servers on which you hold the "Manage Server" permission,
  • take part in giveaways that require a Discord link,
  • have your Discord name and avatar displayed in the dashboard.

Unlinking

You can undo the link at any time in the same area. This only severs the connection to your Discord account – your Cordavix account, your purchases and your account history are retained, provided you have set an email address and password (otherwise you would be locked out of your account; the system therefore prevents unlinking if no alternative means of access exists).

One Discord account, one Cordavix account

For security reasons, a Discord account can only ever be linked to exactly one Cordavix account. If you try to connect a Discord account that is already linked, the dashboard reports this back to you in an understandable way, instead of showing an unclear error.

Common pitfalls

If the redirect from Discord comes back with an error message (e.g. because the request was denied or the security token became invalid), simply try again – usually a second attempt in a freshly opened tab does the trick. If the problem persists, check whether your Discord account is already connected to a different Cordavix account, and otherwise get in touch with us via the contact form.
